The first ‘FICCI School Education Conference’ on the theme ‘Towards Effective Delivery of Quality Education’ was organized on 10TH March, 2014 in New Delhi. The conference debated on the challenges of quality in the current K-12 school system in India which is one of the largest in the world with more than 1.4 million schools and 250+ million students enrolled.
The chief guest, Prof. R Govinda, Vice Chancellor, National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA) inaugurated the conference.
On the occasion, three reports were released on education namely, FICCI – CSF Report on Guidelines for Designing and Implementing Large Scale Learner Assessments; FICCI – EY Knowledge Paper on Strengthening Private Sector Contribution to School Education and FICCI – CSF Report on Public Private Partnerships in Education.
More than 300 delegates comprising of Independent School promoters, C-1 level executives, prominent educators, think tanks, consulting firms, international partners, multilateral and bilateral agencies, state and central government officials important to this dialogue participated at the conference.
