FICCI ARISE Indian School Education leaders’ delegation to United States of America, 2018 at New York and Boston, USA


FICCI Alliance for R-imagining School Education mounted a high-powered delegation of Policy Makers, Promoters and Educators of leading Indian Private and Public K-12 Schools to USA from May 14-18, 2018. Mr Anil Swarup, Secretary (SE&L), MHRD led the delegation.
The key objective of the delegation was to facilitate the visiting members to observe and understand the American model of educational development in K-12 space and gain broad exposure to schools’ systems and processes. The purpose was to not only experience key aspects of K-12 education at various innovative schools especially in matters related to pastoral care, innovative pedagogical practices and ICT integration but also showcase the best practices of Indian education system at a global platform and explore meaningful academic partnership opportunities. More than 20 leading educators and change makers were part of the delegation.
The delegation met with various institutes in New York and Boston regions that have reconceptualised the very idea of a school by creating inspiring learning environments in unexpected places, and by using architectural design to guide learning. Some of the schools included Philips Exeter Academy, Brooklyn Technical High, United Nations International School, Green Ivy Schools, Avenues; The World School, MET High School etc. The delegation also had an interactive session with the Indian American students at Harvard Graduate School of Education on the role of private and government sectors in the future of Indian Education system.
Through this study mission, the Indian group of educators got a perspective on the overall school administration, reforms and innovation in the country to understand the future of learning
